Shooting Friends!

As I am an up and coming photographer I have done some amazing shoots and most of them have been with my friends. While I can work with them well as I am already close with them, I love working with them but there is always that little voice in my head telling me that there not going to like them.

I have been told by my friends that they really like my images but once your on a shoot with them I stress about living up to the hype they have given me.

Now I know this is just my being silly but I like to give people what they want, Most of the time I can give it to them but some times I just dont feel like I have done a good enough job for them.

I dont know, maybe its just me. Maybe I should just get on with what I do but sometimes I find that your own skill can be your down fall.

Corner Shop Shoot

The last few weeks have been crazy so now im going to do some updating.

Am I am going to start with one of my gigs last week, It was for an old friend of mine. He promots singers and hip hop artists in London, And he asked me to get some images for him.

So I ended up getting there just on time, Got the images and shot off back home ready for the beginning of the next day... I had already had a shoot and my mind was on that still but I still did a good job.

It has been a crazy few weeks this end. I have been up late and running around the place alot.

I have moved a friend, been to party's, Spinning at Spits and had a few photo shoots. 

So I will be trying to get you guys back up to date soon enough!

Water Dropplets (20120310)

I have been on the camera today again, I orders an off-camera flash lead about 3weeks ago and today it turned up!! So much for "Fast Delivery"

So when I got back in after a little trip with Fluff in town, I see about setting up a still life shoot. I will not blast you with details as there is a vid on YouTube you can see of the details, But I had alot of fun getting some great images..

Hyde Park Walk!

Short Blog today...

I went to Hyde Park in London today and I got some amazing images, and to edit them I was using the  brand new LightRoom 4. I will do a blog about LR4 soon but it is an amazing bit of software and I would tell any tog friend to grab it even if there already using LightRoom 3.

Bob & Me

Ok this is going to be one of them "deep and meaningful" blogs but I feel I have to share a video I have just seen.

A book to read!

Some of you might not know me very well and some might have know me for years but I really hate bully's!

Of late I have called out a few of my friends about racist comments or sexist views. With some I took it as people just trying to be cool and to get a point across, other's I see as just being silly and saying something that they have herd someone else say. 

I have been making it a point of my life to re-educate some people that I feel should know better, While some I have just called out on being a biggit! Just because our grandparent said something does not mean its ok for us to, Just because its not show that it has upset someone does not make it fine. Were talking about sex, race or what ever it is that you think makes us different from each other... Drop all this shit as were not different, everyone of us is the same, every life form has the right to be happy and safe.

My case in point for many of my friends is the term "Gay", meaning something bad, Now I know where this comes from as well calling something queer once meant it was not the norm, but after a while queer  was used as a diss to gay people. I am so sick of people calling something gay when its implie that its wrong or bad, We are speaking English here people and I believe that we should start doing that again. Read some books and pick up where the words come from! The Etymologicon is one that I would check out.

Every so often you find someone that feels the same about something that you do but its rare to find someone that feels that they should stand up within there own circles of friends and family to say something right and fair. My Girlfriend has asked me why I like this guy so much and I think this might help her to understand. The fact that I believe as he does that everyone should have there say but at the same time call out some "free speech" as the hateful comments that they are.

Now the video that started this blog is from MovieBob, A man living in the U.S who like me cant stand a bully. He has a blog, Youtube channel and also does Game/Movie themed shows on the escapistmagazine.com showing some of the great and the worst we as a race have to offer!

The Guy With The Glasses

Today I have been watching some videos on a site I got from MovieBob called thatguywiththeglasses.com

I just like its silly reviews and this guy has seen some shit movies (most of witch I have seen as well!)

Meeting Mick Foley (20120224)

Friday night was a great night! An alsome night! But I will start at the beginning!

The Funkasaurus Gets Foleyed

A few moths ago I saw on twitter that Mick Foley was doing a stand up tour and I thought, WOW thats different, he has been a great wrestler, I have read 2 of his books and I have always thought he was a funny man. A few weeks later I see that he is coming over to the UK for part of this stand up tour!! 

I was gutted that I missed it in November but then I saw that he was coming back in the new year... The VERY week between my Dads and Mums bday's. I saw this as fate as the only person I would go with would be my Dad who got me into wrestling when I was a kid.

Daddy-O & Mick

I had given my dad clues but he did not work it out till he was in the building and a smile just popped up on his face, I was so happy that he was smiling like a kid. After a little bit of queuing we got to meet the legend that is Hardcore, we got to say hello and a signed shirt as well, I got the pic for dad(see top image) but when it got to mine there was an issue with the flash(It did not go off) So if did not look great but dads was the most important one as I saw it.

The show was really good and the support acts were big fans so they just loved getting to do gags they just cant do on any other gig. The man himself was alot better then i thought, Now I am not saying that my expectations where low, they where high, but he both met and flew right by them. during the event my dad felt bad for me not getting a good pic he asked the MC if it was cool if i got another go at the end of the show, Shockingly he not only said yes but we could come back after the show and try it again! So I made sure that the camera worked fine this time around.

Bubble Tea?

If you just read the title you would probably be thinking what I thought when I was told we would be going to check out this place!

Fluff had been with K and Queenie to the place a few days back but we had seen it on our random travels in London. I loved the place and the vib in there BUT and this is a big smelly butt. I did not really like it! 

I got a Banana Milk shake with the normal bubbles and for over £5, It really did not go down well. Fluffs was better. She had a HOT carmel with yogurt bubbles, But being hot made it even more sweet and too sweet for her... Yea it kinda blew but it was a lot of fun and I have always loved doing something different!

Lets Start With Tues

Lets start at the start of the week.... Aka Tuesday lol!

As you guys know every Tuesday is spits for me, But It was also my Dads 59th birthday so I knew it was going to be a long one for me. We got to my folks place around about 15.30 and had a really short but nice time. Dad was really happy and  I got to get the tickets to my dads surprise pressy. 

To make things even more fun was I was carrying my whole kit bag as I needed it for later in the night, including my tripod but had to cross most of London with it all. 

I ended up having fun at spits and bumped into a few friends on rote (I never meet anyone I know in London let alone 3 of them at different points). I did some video and got some more tips from the guys how shoot videos a lot more than me...

I was really happy with this video, but this will be my last for a little while, my life's just to busy and this week I want to just spin! Talking of spinning, I got given a new staff from a friend for a really great price so Thanks dude. My glow staff should last a little longer thanks to you hehe
