Microsoft might have lost me... Will Sony pick me up?

I am not a very happy gamer... 

I joined a mass amount of gamers yesterday to watch the live reveal of the new Xbox

After all that waiting - IM PISSED!!!

Once again MovieBob has said it better than I ever could

You might have followed my feed on tweeter/Facebook while the show was on and you could tell i was not happy. I really feel like this is it for me, I think the Xbox 360 will be the last new console that I ever buy.

I feel cheap and dirty after seeing that show and my love for MS as a gaming platform just went out the window, with everything from EA and COD i felt it could not go any lower - I was wrong.

Now one of the MAIN companies in gaming is basicly making a fucking DVR that lets me do thing I never do or they let me do things I can already do.

I found the whole show to be lame and almost insulting - With nothing on gaming and just telling me its going to be a centre for my living room is just silly. 

All we got to see was 

1. Tt can change the channel over (Thank MS I have a remote)
2. Can watch live telly (no one watchs live telly MS)
3. You can use Bing! on Internet explorer (Do I even need to say it?)

4. Its going to be pretty - So was the last generations of consoles 

5. It looks like a VCR! from the 80s
and last but not least - D.R (FUCKING) M demarding an always online connection! 

Today we found out about under games will have a charge on them killing used games and borrowing games as well, So far I am so pissed off at MS that I am half temped to just toss my xbox 360 outa the window in protest! 

At this rate MS has now lost me to Sony and with PS4 - If sony fuck this up then this might be the last new console I will ever buy :( a sad day in my life

Something For Gamers 2 Think About...

I was just reading through some of the blogs I follow... And this vid made me think

Now I have always been a gamer and this is something that I have never really though about, Trouble is that I always played as a girl when given a choice.   

I tend to get games that have a powerful female protagonist like Portal, Bayonetta, Mass Effect, Fall Out 3 as well as many others. But the view of women in games does tend to follow a very wrong path.

I would like to see more games with a female lead and not just for sexual reason see Lollipop Chainsaw and the peace of shit DOA Extrema. I will try to post the 2nd video when it comes onto Youtube but till then check out Feminist Frequency Channel.

I Love This Game!!

The other day I was walking in HMV and saw something on the shelf that grabbed my eye!

Hitman HD Trilogy is as you might have guest is a HD remake of one of my fav sets of games ever! I 1st played this on the PC and the playstation.

Now I am a BIG fan of stealth games, Trouble is these days you dont really get stealth games... Sure you get ones that you have to hide behind someone and kill them but you have to kill them. I like a game that is open ended and you can do the level with only killing the people that you have a contract on.

Other then this season of games there is only really Theft and they have not made a remake of that (The last Theft as shit btw) Anyways - If you have had enough of these games like COD or just pissed off at having a game hold your hand while it shows you pretty things then you will love this set of games.

I just finished the level "Curtains Down" with in witch I sneaked in to the back stage of an opera, Replaced a fake prop gun with a real one - And having someone else kill one target. While placing a boom under the seat of my 2nd target to blow once the 1st was shot on stage. 

Setting this up takes alot of time and getting everything right to just sit back and watch all that work go so smoothly is just amazing! Gaming at its best without anything happening automatic both your own hard work is just bliss.

Now this was not the only way of doing it, I have worked out at least 4 ways of doing this mission and I bet there is more BUT getting someone to do the killing made it all the sweater.

Hitman HD Trilogy is a remake of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. And for only £29.99 on Xbox360 & PS3 for 3 of the best stealth games from the last gen is so worth it that I would tell everyone to get it!

In short, The Us Govement want to bring in an age rating system to stop kids buying adult rated games.... Like the rest of the world has had for the better part of 10 years! 

There has been the PEGI system for a long time but for somereason in america you could still buy an 18 rated game if your under that age... This seems to be a little silly but I still think that whats the ponit in having a system if your not going to use it.

Will this stop the mass killings - NO

Will this stop the mass killers blaming video games - NO

Will this study at least finally prove that games are not contacted to these kind of acts of madness? - maybe

There has already been studies now dont that prove this fact. In any state... I guess this could bring one good thing. It will cut down some of the numbers of 12 year olds playing COD and screaming down the mic for no good reason

Watch Dogs.. OH MY FUCKING GOD!

I think I just saw one of the best looking, open world games I have ever seen, And after watching the trailer below I am dying to find out more info on this title.

I love games that give you choice and have more then one way of finishing it. I have always given the benefit of the doubt to games that look funky as long as they give you the option of completing the mission in different ways. Now I have been scared by buying titles from trailers before but I will always get these games in the hope they make more games like it (voting with my wallet). 

I have owned and LOVED games like Deus Ex(both the original and the Human Revolution)  Hit-man, Shemiu, Fable, Tenshi, dynasty warriors and open world games such as all the GTA, Prototype, SpiderMan2, True Crime, Red Faction... Ok ok I'll stop now, Watch Dogs looks to be the game I have been wishing for for a very long time.

Anyways... WATCH!!

Do I need to say any more?

First - The look:

Smooth is the word that comes to mind, This is something the Cat from Red Dwarf would start licking himself over, It has a look of the new Deus Ex mixed with the dark side of Uncharted. The water effects are really nice and looks like the creators are taking alot of queues from the adventures of Nathan Drake, but then all of a sudden without a world or warning - It becomes True Crime!! Personly I am hoping it comes out with the polish of one of RockStars amazing sandbox legends!

The Game Play:

The phone looks likes a heavily used hacking tool, locking into everything for coms to street traffic lights. The free flow running with the gun play and the cover mechanic does look very smooth without to much in the way of jerky movements. 

The driving does worry me a little, If felt more like the car was flying then rolling along the floor, the reason why I said more True Crime then GTA.

After Thought's

Watch Dogs is coming from UBISOFT and they are good to new IPs. Remember this is the team that gave us the assassin's creed games (Yes i'm saying NEW IP as with AssCred there slowly driving it into the ground). Fable offered you choice but under Peter Molyneux's hype they never lived up to a truly open choice game.

I loved the look and feel of  the new Deus Ex games, with its film-oir look mixed with a slice of Blade Runner. The game had a little of everything I like - Open world, Stealth and some RPG elements. Watch Dogs adds what looks like a GTA style sandbox to the Deus Ex formula. With this new dimension I can see Watch Dogs joining the list of legendary titles above.

If this game delivers on everything or even 80% of what they showed here in this Gameplay trailer... Were in for one hell of a good game!

This is one to keep your eyes on friends, As far as I have found out its coming to PS3 and Xbox, most likly with a PC relise down the line as well. Look for it in 2013 but dont be shocked to see it in the shops by Christmas!!

E3 2012 LIVE!

E3 (Electronic EntertainmentExpo) is the biggest weekend of the video gaming calender, It is the showcase of all of the years upcoming games and consoles. 

This is the event that we 1st saw the PlayStation, trhe revile of the new Xbox kinect and many other great things that have felled mine and many others life of joy and happiness.  

Every year i scroll the net looking for news and clips to find out the news and trailers, But this year Xbox was very nice to live stream the event on the xbox itself.

My Girls BACK!!

I remember the 1st time I saw her, Her pologones where ruff but she was a hottie, But in later years every single time she came out with a new title I just felt like I was being taken for a ride...

Its been a While!

After seeing the new trailer of her latest action game I have to say that this puts Lady Lara Croft back into the lime light with not a lemon in sight!

This does look alot like Uncharted but with a far better and less cocky protagonist and that's always a good thing! Anything to get away from Nathan Drake, The smug git! As well as having this on my Xbox as well will also be a good thing as well, lol

Something to Keep An Eye On!

I was just watching some youtube vid and the normal add came on.... but unlike most addverts, I watch all of this one.. 

Now I know this is live action, and I know that I am a massive kung-fu fan... 

BUT

After a while of playing games you kinda work out what's in the game from the trailers. Little hints that are in the video (that they decide to leave in). I am thinking something link "True Crime Streets Of LA" but next gen version.I really really liked the that group of games but it was limited by the gen they where on.

Coming in 2012 Pre-Order for PC/PS3/Xbox, Its from Square Enix (Deus Ex/Final Fantasy) So you know its going to get a good start... Will let you know more when I do

New Xbox and PlayStation consoles could be revealed at E3 this year

For my gaming friends out there... You might have herd that we are in a 10 year cycle of this Console generation, and like me you might have through that "Kincet" and "Move" would be the thing to keep this gen alive for another 3/4 years...

Well its strongly rumerd that this year at E3 both Sony and Microsoft will be unveiled there next system. This has got my pissed as I really belived in this 10 cycle happening. I have had almost every manger console starting from the ZX Spectrum +2 (1982) to the Sega Master System and the NES up till now (the seventh generation)

I am used to getting somthing new every 5 years and that is a good thing as tech changes and its great to get that box fresh new console, Finding out all the new cool stuff that could happen on this platform as well as everything else that comes with it.

But this was at time when a new console costs around the £150 mark and the games were between £15/£25... This last gen saw the PS3 Start price at well over £500 and the xbox360 was around the £300 price point. That is the reason I am a little pissed over this coming out now.

Now the Xbox came out in November 2005 and the PS3 a year later so you could say that its been between 6 and 7 years and that should be fine. After all its been longer then 5 years but I just see it as rude to lie to us as we are the people that now pay stupid money for what we love, 100s of pounds and nearly £50 for a game that only lasts us about 4/5hours(See the new COD)

Screwattack Meets Deadliest warrior!

some of you might know of Screwattack (LINK), But for the ones that dont... Screwattack is a site for all old school gamers that grow up in the late 80s early 90s (NES/Master System age)

We are talking everything from Mario, Metroid Sonic, Shinobi and all them good ones but also do some of the more upto date things like Doom. This is also where "MovieBob" and "the angry video game nerd" call home.

OnLive... ITS REALLY GOOD!

Gaming is about to change, FOREVER!

A while ago I did a blog about something that was going to change the face of gaming if it worked.

And today I tried it for the 1st time... And it really works!

OnLive is simple and very easy to work out system, you play games on your computer or lappy but the processing is done somewhere else. So all the hard work is handled on a far better computer then the one your sitting at!

As long as you have a net conaction of 3mbs or more, The lag is not even there. I used to be a massive PC gamer but with all the trouble of getting a good rig and having the latest card for this or that I just gave up. Consoles just work far better and much easier then using a PC!

With OnLive you are just streaming the content so you could play on a shitty little laptop and it still plays great. I just finished a demo of the new Batman game (and my computer is really not good enough to run that bad boy)

Now you can buy the micro console to plug into your telly (£69.99) or you can download the app for PC. for that price you get the wireless controller (witch works both on PC and the micro console) and all the wires HDMI lead. Plus it into the TV and the internet (wired but should have a WiFi verson out soon) and your good to go.

the games are at a good price, you can rent or buy the games, Also they have a "GamesPass" that give you about 150 games as well as discounts on newer or games not on the list. I belive thats a monthly fee but some of the games do look good on the list.

I might have to do some more tests but from my little computer and with my net connection Batman looked great, felt great and 30mins FREE DEMO was amazing! oh and you only buy a game once, no matter if it was on PC, console or even your iPad! Looks like Sony's new PSP (veter) is going to really suck from that!

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

The people that know me know im a gamer, The ones that really know me well know that I LOVE Stealth games!

One of my all time fav games would be MGS on the PS1/PC. I played that game to death and killed off 2 copys of it on the PS1 and 1 on the PC as well. I still have it as a text tone on my phone!

Now I hear this was coming out and I was a little pissed as everything I saw said it was only on PS3. I own an XBOX as I like the lay out of it plus online is far better on the 360 then PSNetwork (no fan boys here and that's a fact!)

But thanks to the guys at AchievementHunter I just found out that The MGS HD collection is indeed out on xbox 360. Now this is a game I am going to buy, My oldest Brother LOVED this games and when ever I play them it reminds me of him!

For the guys that done know "The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection" is not a full collection, the collection is an HD re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and also has the NES versions of the 1st 2 games in the MGS franchise(Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2) but this game lacks Metal Gear Solid and MSG4, Now number 4 I understand but dropping the best of the set and the game that really put Solid Snake on the map is shocking by its absence!

That's a pity as this would have made it the measuring stick of witch all remakes/Collection would be compared to!

EA and on line passes

Tonight I got one of the biggest FPS of the year, battlefield 3! Fluff and I was up town anyways so we got a midnight copy from HMV, could not wait to get in and play it!

Trouble is that its published by EA and For the people that follow my blog know, I really hate EA!

Now I bought the game brand new, within minuites of it coming out and they treat you like a pirate! EA needs to stop doing this or this might be the last game I buy from them.

To play this game online I had to input a 25 digit code, join a fucking website, confirm that I am who I say I am and after 30 long mins after putting the game in my Xbox I still could not play its fucking muit player!

Now this game is great and I'm so happy that I have it, but they way I feel is that EA has just robed me of nearly an hour of play time just to jump through hoops and make sure that i did not buy the game used. I feel like shit and all i wanted to do was play a game I have just paid nearly £40 for.

Great games are fine, Like Jim I have games that I got new in 1996 and still own to this day. I play my N64 for time to time as golden-eye is still an amazing game. Metal Gear Solid on the playstation(One) is still to this day one of my favs and lets not forget Pac-man and tresses that I have bough so many times on different platforms that I could open a museum.

Wii U controller...

New Wii add on, The Wii U controller, think Wii mote having a love child with an iPad and being brought up as a DS... But it does look like fun!

I dont have a Wii but both my brother and Mum have one so I could be playing on it some time soon!

Penn & Teller BS: Video Games

With all of the "Games Are Bad" Shows on the telly right now, Its nice to see someone not only do something on our side but also slap the taste out of Jack Thompson

Penn & Teller BullShit did a show on Video Games and looking at is with a more REAL look at videogames. Someone need to show the other side of gaming and not just a scap goat for worried Christian mothers

But there is just one thing I dont understand about Americans and FPS...

Maybe this is only in England but we have the BBFC and if they censors a film or a game, and think its not for kids then people cant buy it unless there over 18 (Yea mummy might buy it for the kids but thats just bad parenting and nothing to do with gaming)

I really think that this is one side of this fight that needs to be told!
