Alone with friends...

I'm really in a funny mood today... I've been with friends all day but spent most of it in my head.

I'm think about what's going on in my life and what I'm missing in Sweden. My friend used to call me a love junky and I think that most of all that is what I am missing. That closeness that 2 people share and feel for each other. I don't know...

My friend did a painting with the text saying "To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides".

Without that togetherness, without love you just have the psychical and I never really think that is going to be enough.

I don't know if this means I have made the biggest mistake of my life or that I'm just to deep in my own head right now.

Long days and Longer Night

My life has changed so much in the last 2 weeks that I'm finding it really hard to come to terms with it.

With Fluff moving back to Sweden my nights are alot more lonely  time has slowed down to a crawl and no amount of movie's or music seems to help, I have had some friends over and that does help a lot but as there not on the same time frame as I am, I am always left alone with my thoughts and worries.

I guess I just better get used to it as I dont see it changing any time soon. So as your falling off to sleep tonight, send a through to little old skinny Sweet dreams world

Another busy weekend

This weekend Skinny has been a very busy boy.

Some of you might not know but Saturday was world Zombie day and to celebreat it there was a massive meet in London. I joined the fun around 15.00 for the start of the pub crawl, As I was shooting I did not get dressed up but alot of my friends did and I really got some cool images, While editing I get one of the images a Fake HDR look, It worked so well that I used this style on all the images.

If you would like to see the full set use this LINK.

After the fun with the dead I headed home to get cleaned up for HHH (Hard House Heaven), An event I was asked to shoot up in Kings Cross. Scalar is one of my old school venues that I went to alot back in the day but it looks to be coming back as a hard house venue again. It was a really good night, music was banging and the people were just amazing!

Full set of images once again on the site or on this LINK!

Macro Reverse Adapter Rings

Something just came back to me...

When I 1st started in this crazy world of photography, I remember seeing someone on YouTube showing a technically that faked a macro lens...

I just ended up watching a video on the tube using style (Below)

Now I have looked up online and found a company that makes these
Macro Reverse Adapter Rings (LINK

going for as little as £1.69 I am really temped, I gave a little test by just holding my lens to my camera(The wrong way around) and it does work well, only trouble is shooting macro at 1.4 is a little hard... Best to get a cheap old lens that lets you use manual adapter ring.

These images were both taken with the same lens, A 50mm 1.4, both images taken as near to the subject as I could... Big difference!

The end of an Era

Today was a sad day for London,

My little Squishy moved back to the land of Sweden to begin her new life out there. To be near home as well as to get a Swedish dance job. We were up all night packing and making boxes and bag fill with stuff, books and cloths and soooo many shoes it was unreal.

The longest we have spent apart since November 2005 is about 9 days so this is is something wearied for the 2 of us. We were up early so we could get to the airport. I really wanted to see her off but lacking the funds we had to say goodbye at Victory Train station.

coming home alone (and knowing that I was going to be alone) really messed with my head...

One small thing that made me smile was when we entered Starbucks, She got the drinks while I got the bags upstairs .. She gave her name, and the lady behind the disk put it down... I was shocked to see that she had miss herd and placed her name down as YODA!! Gotta love them coffee.

Now... I must get used to life without having a little fluff one around to look after me :(

Going back to the OldSchool!

Tonight, I am feeling like a little old school garage... I love that I can lok up most of the old school tracks on YouTube without having to dig out all the old CDs (Remember them?) and vinyl records(Unless your a DJ you most likely don't know then these days)

One of my old school loves was this track by X-Men called "Yesterday"... I remember listening to this track over and over, bad memories with a girl. Plus it was kinda like the Beatles track of the same name in my eyes.

But there not all bad ones, many tracks by some great artiest that most who did not grow up in London have never herd of... the UK garage seen was massive and I think it was mostly London basted. We had no rock, little hip hop and almost no dance music unless you count D&B.

I did love me some drum and bass!

Head Shots!

This weekend I have 2 shoots happening. The 1st is filming a good friend for some promotion work... Yes Yes the people that know me, know I dont shoot video often but this is not cos I don't like shooting video - its that my computer cant take the file size that my Canon 7d kicks out at 1080p.

The 2nd shoot is for another friend, an actor. I met her a few moths back and we get along really well.
She asked me a while back if I could shoot some head shots for her... Of course I can I said.

Now I have done a few shoots (not tooting my own horn) but I have never gone just for head shots, I love doing something new and different so I will always jump at the chance at doing new things.

Now with my shooting work I always try to get a feel of the person, a movement or something to tell a story... The easiest way is to shoot the eyes, they are the window to the sole and make the image say something.

Here are a few images I grab from the web and all have something to say... Have a look and have a think what each image says to you.

Its all about the eyes!

I love the use of hands in this shot,

A very soft look but tack sharp eyes

There is a feel to this image I just love

A simple shot that tells a story
The images on this blog are not mine but you can find them on a google search.

I did find this great video on youtube from B&H (US version of our Jessops)

I am really looking forward to this shoot and I have a feeling, if all goes well, I can see this is a type photography becoming a regular part of my work.
