A birthday to remember!

Last week was my nephew 7th birthday, and as a surprise we took him and his little mate to Chesting World of Adventures. Being a big day out I was up early (VERY early for me) and I was shocked to see the world at 08.30.

I met the tribe at Clapham Junction and we got the train from there. the weather was really sunny but the forecast told or rain to come. the train only took about 30mins and before we knew it... We were standing outside this world full of adventures.

outside this world full of adventures

the park was busy but not to packed, The guys 1st stop was the Vampire Ride - one of the oldest in the park but I stayed behind to take the bags and hoping to get a good pic as they fly by. I did not know how long the queue was going to be so i grabed a tea and waited by the tunnel. 78mins later I saw them slowly getting to the top of the ride, read for the big drop!

James, Jamie, Danny, Connor, Flip and Shelly on the Vampire

The day as a hole was a lot of fun but the weather did brake, A day of sunny summer sun shine mixed with rain, Thunder and hale. They closed the rides at one point - After we had queue for over an hour but lucky it re-opened and we got another ride out of it. The park did close early after the 2nd more powerful storm hit.

With the rain not looking to stop we headed for the aquarium and I got to teach the kids some little details about the different types of fish! I know "Skinny Schooling"

the way home was faster and before I knew it, We got back to my brothers flat... I had promised my nephew Minecraft for his birthday and I set that up for him once we got in... And I dont believe he has come off it since lol

I have some images on the site from the day and if you would like to see them all, here is a

SELLING GEAR!!

New Lens NOT FROM JACOBS!

Had some fun at Jacbos the other day... And not the nice fun!

A few weeks ago they told me that For my near £400 wide angle lens they would give me £200-part exchange. Now Its a Tamron lens so its 3rd party and its a Sony fit so yea I took that and through that at least its £200 towards a nice new lens for my Canon.

Now after a week or so I popped in to double check everything and all was set to go and I would bring in the lens the next day!

I  cleaned the lens making sure there was no marks on the body and that it was in great nick, I went in the next day and everything was going smoothly UNTIL The man servering me had to ask how to do something on my order. The other man had a look at the box my lens was in and asked some details.

He went on to say that my lens was not worth £200, not because of the lens itself or the condition but solely of the fact its a Sony fit... And my day just went south from there!

He took the lens to show his boss down stares and I am willing to bet he did not even look at it. He comes back and offers my only £120 one hundred and twenty fucking pounds!!!

Lets just say skinny was not happy about that! and am now scare from every selling anything ever again, To a shop any ways. Ill just sell to people from now on.

But as they messed me around so much. I am getting it not only £100 cheaper but from someone else.... So I guess I get the last laugh MOHAHAHA!!

Selling some glass!

I have always kept everything that I have ever bough!

Everything for books to gaming to tech I have always had it, Yea im a horde if you want to call me it.
Any ways, since I got my new camera I have really missed having different glass to use. So I made the step to sell some of my old gear. I am now on my last peace of Sony gear and tomorrow I am going to be placing it on eBay.

I took these images to help sell it and I really love these pics, But I am going to miss this lens as I have so many memory's with it.

I am hoping to make at least £250 from this lens as it would really help going towards my next few bits of kit!

Virtual Reality Contact Lenses!!

I think I might have just had a geek gazem...

I was just watching a show on BBC New (Click) and they had a story about Virtual reality contact lenses. Giving you a HUD (Heads Up Display) so you can over lay information without changing the focus of your eyes AKA You see the info AND what ever it is that your doing at the same time.

Now this is already happening right now, but has not yet come into public use, as some more testing is needed (or something else is stopping it for now).
This could be a real game changer for many things from seeing a spelling error for someone with dexlia to showing the location of your mobile phone when lost, OR STOLEN!, It could overlay the weather when you look up to the sky or direct you to your local tub or pub. Talking of pubs - This device could show you the way home after one to many!

We really are living in an amazing time for tech heads!

L or none L?

Yes Yes Yes this is a lens blog, you know the drill, if you dont wanna hear camera talk go put your head in a metal bin and bang it really hard with a wooden spoon! For the rest of you......

After coming out from last weeks rave and seeing some of the images from other togs there I got a little of the green eye. Not really over anything bad just that they where all using fish eye lens(yes as in the eyes of a fish).I did borrow a friends super wide angle (10-20mm) and I cant believe ho much I missed using a lens like that. IN events and raves you cant always move back and you want to get as much as you can in the frame. (See below)
An Image I took with the WideAngle

At the mo I am stuck on a 24-70 so the wide angle is not very wide when you put it on a cropped censor camera. So having a wide angle to play with was a lot of fun. This week I have sold my old camera and now have some money to play with to get a new lens.

canon 16-35mm f 2.8
Now I would love to get the trinity of canon glass (16-35 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8) of witch I own one of. I saw the 16-35 f2.8 in Jacobs going for silly money. Trouble is that they sold it before I had the cash. SOOOO I have been looking at some 3rd party glass.

Tokina 16-28 f/2.8
Canon 10-22mm F3.5-45

SIGMA 8-16mm F4.5-5.6
Tokina AF 11-16mm

Now these lens range from aroun the £479 to about £800 and the one I would like brand new is around £1,200.00

Now - You do get what you pay for as my daddy always says... A friend tells me that the L and none L lens preform ruffle the same and paying so much extra is not worth it, But at the same time, when you buy a Canon L lens, you really do have peace of mind that that lens is going to be with you a long LONG time!

Now im going but to my reviews and research... Wish my luck!

Little Venice Walk

Just an update to let you know I have uploaded some pics of late... One set being from last weeks rave and the other from a walk I took in London's fancy end (Warwick Avenue) otherwise know as Little Venice

If you would like to see the full set head over to the site using this LINK.

Total Recall?

I did hear about this a few months back but only just saw the trailer for the 2012 relise of "Total Recall"

Now I loved the last film, It was one of the 1st really mind bending movies that I watched as a kid. Yes its a straight up action movie with a hooker with 3 titties but look below the surface and you have a really intriguing sci-fi movie on your hands.

Is everything happening as you see it, or is it the fake memory that his living out? Most dont see that of an Schwarzenegger movie but it does make you re-think the whole film after you find out!

Were going to be finding out soon enough!

Oh and just case you dont know this already.... THEY DONT EVEN GO TO MARS!!!
