Close Up 4 Piece Filter Kit

Last week I got some new bits, one was a new set of Nunchaku and the other was a
Close Up 4 Piece Filter Kit.

I got them in the post on Saturday and tonight I have been having a little play. Nothing much but just checking the kit out.

Now I have a few pics to show you, The 1st is an image taken of my Stan, with my 50mm 1.4 shot at f4 to give you an idea of the closest I can get with this lens!

The next set of images are taken with each filer placed on the end of the lens to give you an idea of how close you can get with this kit!

Now This came with the case, fits nice and flat into a camera bag and for only £12.00 its far cheaper then getting a macro lens (Yes a true macro will always be better and one day I will own one)

Here is the Amazon LINK I got this from, my 50mm 1.4 is a 58 filter so you will have to get one for your lens in the right size, It should say on the lens but you can always look on line for it.

And here it it!

Hope you guys liked it, took a little bit of work and brain power but I think its looking pretty good

South West Spinning Video

Last weekwend I went down to the tunnels under Waterloo for a burn, I already posted the pics and a full blog about it but this time I wanna talk about the video I shot!

I mostly went down to shoot stills for tis event but I also wanted to get some video, I have never really shot a video with fire before and I through as I have some gear with me I might give it a try... My video editting skills are (very) Slowly coming together but I did not just wanna lead from one clip to the next with this video, I wanted it to be choppy and fast with lots of cut aways and stuff.

It took me 3 days to find the right music to go along with the video. With the help of a friend I found a great one... Ants by edIT. It was both a fast pasted and slow pasted tune with alot of jumps and cuts in it... Trouble is I could not get all the cuts in the vid to mix with the music. There is a part where the track fades out really slowly and then stops before coming back in again. I ended up putting a slow-mo bit of myself spinning in there and I wanted it to blend it into a clip of Ems doing hoop where she is going slow and then Pushes the hoop super fast around her... aka bring the slow - stop - fast bits of the music into the slow - stop - fast bit of the video. My timing was off andit just sticks out like a thumb after some trouble with a very large door.

I have looked it over a few times on youtube (over 8 hours on the upload this time) and there are a million little things I wanna change, The slow-mo bit I talked about earlier is something I would have liked to use more, at the start with the burn off would have been a good one. Cut away clips with next to no one in them slow down the video and I would have liked to have had a little more zoom on my len (24-70 would have been a good lens to bring)

Another thing I would have liked to ass was many more spinners, the event was pretty small and only about 7 spinners so you see the same faces and moves alot and my own clips were ramrod stiff as no one was behind the camera to be zoomed in and flowy.

Anyways... Here is the video I finished with and next time I go to a burn I am going togo and only shoot video - see if I can make something a little better.

Inception (20130316)

As some of you might know I started dome some work for CoreMag and ClubOver Load with some of my event shooting...

Well a few weeks back I was asked to cover an event from the person who got me both of them jobs... So of course I said yes. The event was Inception, @ Hidden (my most hated club in London). The event itself was pretty good, music and croud was there but there was something lacking a little, This was a cheryity event and as suck I dont think must people paid for entry and with free entry you lack the punch of "I MUST HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!"

I think that showed, there was not as much bounce as there should have been in the club, worst of all I really dont think I did a very good job with my photography as well. I have just finished the edits and there better that I through at the time but still, I feel bad for letting my Friend down who has done so much for me.

The night before I took some really nice images at the burn and I think it might have burned me out.

Here are some of the images - You guys get 1st peak before they go onto facebook tomorrow

SouthWest Spinners!

Friday was ment to be the 1st meet of the SW spinners, a spin off group of my Spinnging@ Tuesday night/ Full Moon Fire Meet who wanted to meet more then once a month for a burn.

See the Full moon burn happens on the themes, being a full moon means the tides are out and we can spin at night, but with the summer coming I think the idea was we could meet up a little more often somewhere without water. Clapham common seemed like a good enough place... Its in south west London, it has a tube and great bus rotes.

Trouble is the water came and found us this time lol - So the meeting was in dough all week long as the weather looked like it was going to be very wet and very cold. On the day of the event we changed the location down to a little street all the spinner know, Leak St under Waterloo is both covers from rain and as a tunnel it keeps out most of the cold as well.

It turned into a very small meet without about about 8 of us but once the tunes got there (Thanks Sim) We got the party started.

Something For Gamers 2 Think About...

I was just reading through some of the blogs I follow... And this vid made me think

Now I have always been a gamer and this is something that I have never really though about, Trouble is that I always played as a girl when given a choice.

I tend to get games that have a powerful female protagonist like Portal, Bayonetta, Mass Effect, Fall Out 3 as well as many others. But the view of women in games does tend to follow a very wrong path.

I would like to see more games with a female lead and not just for sexual reason see Lollipop Chainsaw and the peace of shit DOA Extrema. I will try to post the 2nd video when it comes onto Youtube but till then check out Feminist Frequency Channel.

The Killers LIVE!!

As some of you know last weekend I went over to Sweden to see the Killers... I went along to the conset with Fluff and as normal I had my camera with me.

Trouble is that some places dont let you take cameras in, This happened when I saw the streets a few years back, This time they forst me to put my  gear into the coat room (Something I am not happen about) but what makes it worse is that they only took people with Dslrs... They did not take anyones compacks or phones - No once again the people that take good photos are getting screwed again.

But I was not going to let this little detail mes up with my night so I just made sure I took Loads of pics using my iPhone (Fuck You system!). As it was only my phone the pics came out a little shit BUT I still could take some vids and these videos I have now posted on Youtube as both memories for me and the fluffy one. But a little RAR at the system as well

One trouble with this gig was it was not very smooth, Yes we got in to the venue pretty fast as it was very cold outside but we ended up sitting around for a good 30mins before anything started

The warm up band was not to bad, it did get me in the mood to rock but the gap between the warm up and The Killers was over 45mins, So by the time they came on everyone was cold and a little bored, Then When they did come on, there 1st song - Mr Brightside (my fav) was done with the all the house lights still on.

That little thig being said... This was by far the best conset I have been to, the music was well balanced and the vibe was amazing! The band kicked ass the crow could  have been a little more into it but I was with the only person I wanted to be with and we had a fucking blast!

Thanks for letting me come over and crash  4ife

Focus On Image (20130306)

Focus On Image is a photography exbo that was held in the NEC near Birmingham -  And today I went to it!

I went with a friend and fellow tog Michael -  from Mal Photography. At a very early start we set off for the 2 hour drive from London to Birmingham

We made it in good time with one stop off at the services, Where Michael had one of the worst looking english breakfasts I have ever seen, and from his review it did not taste any better than it looked.

Around 9ish we parked up and set off on foot to the NEC, A cold snap that really woke me up as I left my coat in the car. The event itself was carm and warm, I left most of my gear at home for this one and just had my 16-35 and my 50mm to shoot the event with.

We checked out all the stands, from Nikon to Canon, the 3rd party lens and some of the other stalls at the show. Talked with some random and had a really nice day.

I got to play with alot of the toys I will own one day, from the 85mm 1.2 L (£1650.00) to the flagship camera body from canon the 1Dx (£4500.00) & the new 24-70 2.8 Lii (£1795.00).

Shot with the Canon 1Dx w/ 24-70 2.8 L ii
The 1Dx is an amazing camera, 10FPS, hi ISOs and one sexy as hell body, This is the camera one day I will own and I might add this was shot at 3200 and the image is super clean with noise

Shot with the 24-70 2.8L ii
I poped the 24-70 2.8 L ii while waiting to get my hands on the 85mm 1.2, I own the older version and I do still like mine but this was lighter and a little more smoother in feeling but still felt a little cheap when compared to mine at home.

Shot with the Tamron 70-200 2.8 Di VC USD
As many of you know I covert the dirty white godness that is the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 L ii but as that lens is still around £1800.00 I wanted to have a look at the 3rd party glass that comes in at just under £1000.00... This was a really nice lens, worked very well and had a very good construction. This would be anamazing lens to own and I would be lucky to have it - BUT - Knowing that there is better out there and the older version i of the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 is still a better lens and 2nd hand you can be a ittle luck and  get it ust over £1k.

Shot with the Canon 85mm 1.2 L — with Michael Laing.
Now this was the lens of the day... Michael has an 85mm 1.8 G for his Nikon and has his eye on the 85mm 1.4, but its a fight between the Nikon or the Carl Zeiss... While we were talking about his dream lens for the day he talked me into trying out the canon versions... The amazing and jizz worthy 85mm 1.2 L. So while we waited at the canon stand I had a go... AND OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!! This lens has a rep well deserved  its build and quilty is amazing, the creamy bokea is just to die for and in my crop body it works out around 136mm and at F1.2 it just gives hmmm nom nom nom I dont think I can do it justice.

All in all, I had an amazing day, its a shame that I did not have the funds to get some cool bits and I was tired like a dog but next time, I hope to be a little more ready.

The Swedish adventurer

Right now im sitting in a swedish coffee shop... Well its a starbucks but hay thats not the point.

I have my lapptop on my lap, and a chi in my hand, This is my 1st time in Sweden since last summer and I really am looking forward to an amazing weekend. To spend some time with Fluff and the family, to rock out to the killers and to just have a blast.
